Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Retail Pharmacy Technician with at least 3 years of recent experience in an independent retail pharmacy . The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where answering phone calls, communicating with patients and prescribers, and accurately entering prescription information are the primary responsibilities.
This role is best suited for a pharmacy technician who enjoys phone-based customer service, can type accurately while speaking with callers, and can manage multiple tasks without compromising professionalism or attention to detail.
Important: This is a phone-intensive pharmacy role focused on communication and prescription data entry. Candidates whose experience is primarily in sterile compounding, IV preparation, warehouse operations, inventory management, or long-term care pharmacy may not be the right fit without relevant independent retail pharmacy experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesHandle a high volume of incoming phone calls from patients, prescribers, and healthcare professionals in a calm, professional, and friendly manner.
Accurately enter prescription information, including details received through phone calls, electronic prescriptions, and faxes, into the pharmacy management system.
Type detailed medical and prescription information quickly and accurately while speaking with callers.
Document phone conversations clearly and maintain accurate prescription records.
Communicate professionally with patients and prescribers and respond to questions within the scope of the role.
Acknowledge walk-in customers courteously while managing ongoing phone calls and data-entry responsibilities.
Prioritize competing tasks and maintain accuracy in a busy, interruption-prone environment.
Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to support daily workflow and provide excellent customer service.
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an independent retail pharmacy .
Current Texas Pharmacy Technician registration/license required.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent typing speed and accuracy, particularly when entering prescription and medical information.
Demonstrated experience handling frequent phone calls in a retail pharmacy setting.
Ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site in Fort Worth, TX.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Calm, patient, and professional on the phone.
Comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday answering calls and entering information.
Experienced in balancing phone calls, prescription entry, and occasional walk-in customer interactions.
Adaptable, organized, dependable, and team-oriented.
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on relevant experience.
Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week.
No nights or weekends.
